Rather, I'm wondering if this "2015.0000" patch is the problem, or simply poor servers on SE's end. Out of the hundreds of games I've downloaded, FFXIV is the ONLY one that's given me this much trouble, so I'm having a hard time believing the problem is on my end. I'm aware of, and have first hand experience with Square Enix's terrible customer support, so I'm not even going to waste more time with them. None of these ideas work, and it always stalls at the one patch. Updating all software and firmware on Windows/Router Uninstalling and deleting all FFXIV related files, then reinstallingĭownloading and running multiple different VPNsĬonfiguring and lowering all security on Firefox and Internet Explorer Running administrator and compatibility modeĭisabling security and firewalls both on my computer and router Port forwarding (some people are saying is a port problem) I've seen this problem reported in many times in different forums and everytime people found different solutions that either worked or not. I have researched the problem and attempted virtually every solution I've found and nothing seems to work. But no matter how many times I restart it, it eventually crashes again at the same spot. I can restart the client and the download sometimes resumes about 100mb before the crash point. " (sometimes the is excluded) before shutting down. On a large patch called "2015.0000" the download stops at either ~810mb or ~1333mb and the client displays "Unable to download patch files. I'm attemping to download the game files through the client and manage to get halfway through without a hitch, but on a certain patch I hit a brick wall. I wanted to try it out again before buying Heavensward. I played this game back in 2014 and remember loving it.
